Peterborough Ontario Gay Pubs

open letter

Aimed at viewers who are interventions in public space:

believe that public art is extremely important to society because through it you can generate awareness and opportunities on some questions of reality, which in itself is too complex to analyze, and that the location of a work of art in public space worthy of a great responsibility we are willing to assume.

also believe that our activity is like any other job, is our business. We understand that the artists and makers play a key role in the development of art education, and for that reason it is time to recognized as such and not simply as cheap labor ...

Our activity is developed in the public space that rightfully belongs to us all, even though the state is one who manages it and does - breaks at will, the street requires us to raise critical - reflective and expose ourselves because we think Art should be for all and all are the ones who should have the right to appreciate it.
The city is a body in motion which we are no strangers, remember that it is a necessity that art is public.

intend to give our contribution to building a collective consciousness for a more just society, but also want the state to be more fair to the artists and workers being perceived as of culture, which may have a minimum contribution as any other worker and able to partake of better opportunities, because in these cases are not outsiders who come to work for free, we, we are here, which are always , who do everything in lung and are not only an aesthetic function. We show

just right to fight for what we deserve and so desperately need to continue making our business. We fight for the freedom of artists to stop being a labor of some public officials instead of giving us a hand, give us back ...
